FRESH AS PAINT is a line of comfortable, pre-shrunk children's clothing, doing business for the past 30 years as the home-grown dream of the artist and designer, Jane Miller, of Chester, NJ. Designed, dyed and painted by hand, all garments are 100% cotton and are at the same time, whimsical and durable. FRESH AS PAINT clothing is designed to fit and grow with the child. An elastic waist here, a gathered ankle and a full cut across the bodice there, and the result is comfortable, colorful clothing, meant to be worn through both growth spurts and season changes.
FRESH AS PAINT consists of two distinct lines of children's clothing; a summer/spring line of cotton jersey, and a slightly heavier, all-season French terry line of jumpers, overalls, hats and jackets. The artist is involved with all details of the business, even to the selection of the best natural fibers used to knit the fabrics which are eventually cut and sewn to produce the FRESH AS PAINT designs. Each item is then dyed in the artist’s kitchen with hand-mixed dyes, and eventually hand-painted, resulting in a glorious mixture of color and design fit for a prince or princess!

4. HOW LONG WILL MY ORDER TAKE?
We try to get your order out to you within a business week. However, each item is sewn, dyed, then drawn and painted by hand, and if not in stock, orders can take longer. Just before the holidays things can get backed up and ordering 3-4 weeks in advance is a good idea!
5. SINCE ALL YOUR CLOTHING IS 100% COTTON, IS THERE ANY SHRINKAGE?
No. When I dye the clothing, it goes into very hot water two times, and is dried at high temperatures. The majority of the shrinkage has already been done!
6. WHAT IF I ORDER THE WRONG SIZE?
At FRESH AS PAINT we pride ourselves on great customer service, and want you to be happy with your purchase. Please don’t hesitate to call or email with your sizing questions, or access our sizing chart. A wrong size can be exchanged at any time if returned in unused, unwashed condition.
7. HOW DO YOUR SIZES RUN?
BIG! A size 2T is more like a 2-3, a 4T is more of a 4-5. All items are 100% cotton, but because I dye them in very hot water and put them through the dryer twice, they are pre-shrunk. However, the style is meant to be that full “European fit”, and they look cute long...plus you get to have your child wear the outfit longer! Please check out my sizing chart, or don’t hesitate to phone or email with your questions. If you give me the age, height and weight of the child I can suggest the perfect fit!
8. WHAT IS YOUR RETURN/EXCHANGE POLICY?
At FRESH AS PAINT we want you to be happy with your purchase. If you are dissatisfied with any item you receive from us, we are happy to take it back under the following conditions:
-Any item can be returned within 14 days for a full refund if received in its unused, unwashed, original condition.
-Personalized items and special orders are not returnable.
-After 14 days, unused, unwashed items may only be exchanged.
9. DO YOU CHARGE SALES TAX?
We don't charge tax on clothing however, non-clothing gift items are charged 6% New Jersey tax.
10. WHAT IS THE COST OF SHIPPING?
I ship via US Mail. The first three items cost $5.00, and each item after that is an additional $.50. Additional charge is made for overnight mail (about $18.00). Please call if you want the item immediately.
