FRESH AS PAINT/LADY JANE DESIGNS is a line of casual, comfortable clothing for women and children designed, hand-dyed and hand–painted with loving care by the founder and artist, me, Jane Miller.
For over 40 years, I have exhibited FRESH AS PAINT/LADY JANE DESIGNS clothing at fine craft shows and stores from Vermont to Virginia, and my designs have been worn by children and adults, both in the US and abroad. Yet despite the far-flung territories in which my designs have found themselves, the business remains as it has always been, an essentially home-grown operation, spurred on by a love of color, design, and creating comfortable clothes for children and adults.

1. IS MY TRANSACTION SECURE?
Yes, all transactions through this site are secure. Your right to security if of the utmost importance to us at FRESH AS PAINT. Our shopping application is safe and secure, protecting both your personal information and all credit card transactions. We never sell or otherwise divulge your private information.
2. WHAT ABOUT METHODS OF PAYMENT?

3. CAN I PHONE IN AN ORDER?
Of course! Please call 908-963-4048 and ask for Jane. If I’m at a show, please leave a message and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
4. HOW LONG WILL MY ORDER TAKE?
We try to get your order out to you within a business week. However, each item is sewn, dyed, then drawn and painted by hand, and if not in stock, orders can take longer. Just before the holidays things can get backed up and ordering 3-4 weeks in advance is a good idea!
5. SINCE MANY ITEMS OF YOUR CLOTHING IS 100% COTTON, IS THERE ANY SHRINKAGE?
No. When I dye the clothing, it goes into very hot water two times, and is dried at high temperatures. The majority of the shrinkage has already been done!
6. WHAT IF I ORDER THE WRONG SIZE?
At FRESH AS PAINT we pride ourselves on great customer service, and want you to be happy with your purchase. Please don’t hesitate to call or email with your sizing questions, or access our sizing chart. A wrong size can be exchanged within two weeks if returned in unused, unwashed condition.
7. HOW DO YOUR SIZES RUN?
BIG! A size 2T is more like a 2-3, a 4T is more of a 4-5. All items are 100% cotton, but because I dye them in very hot water and put them through the dryer twice, they are pre-shrunk. However, the style is meant to be that full “European fit”, and they look cute long...plus you get to have your child wear the outfit longer! Please check out my sizing chart, or don’t hesitate to phone or email with your questions. If you give me the age, height and weight of the child I can suggest the perfect fit!
8. WHAT IS YOUR RETURN/EXCHANGE POLICY FOR ONLINE PURCHASES?
At FRESH AS PAINT we want you to be happy with your purchase. If you are dissatisfied with any item you receive from us, we are happy to take it back under the following conditions:
-Any item can be returned within 14 days for a full refund if received in its unused, unwashed, original condition.
-Personalized items and special orders are not returnable.
-After 14 days, unused, unwashed items may only be exchanged.
9. WHAT IS THE COST OF SHIPPING?
I ship via US Mail. The first three items cost $6.00, and each item after that is an additional $.50. Additional charge is made for overnight mail (about $20.00). Please call if you want the item immediately.
All orders are shipped within a week if available, but because each item is sewn, dyed, drawn or painted by hand especially for you, it may take up to 3-4 weeks.
Please order early to avoid the holiday rush!
